I had looked at this but I didn’t think it was great practice to keep having to use the !important keyword after every style I wanted to over write so it wasn’t the best solution.
Should the child theme not just have over written the parent styles? I thought that was the normal hierarchy?
I came up with an alternative for the moment which was to create a custom stylesheet, put it in the parent folder and in the functions file enqueue that so that way i can edit the stylesheet in a text editor instead of directly in WordPress
